Im in 8th grade and just need a science projet idea.
Im intrested in how the mind works or how sleep affects people
please help!

I'm afraid, any project that involves people, espeically brain (ie. sleep) will be too involved for your science project. In order to make any "scientific" presentation, you will have to include medical and biological ideas as well. It will almost never be a pure science project.
Why don't you limit your scope a little and go with parts of your body? For example, how eye works. You can create a box with a pin hole, darkened inside, then thin paper on the other side, you can create a pin hole camera. This is pretty much how eye works. You can then create a presentation comparing human eye to the pin hole camera.
Another interesting idea may be to create a human hand with ordinary items. Make movable joints with wood and rubber band for muscles. You can show how contracting or extending muscles (rubber band) affects the movement, and that you have to move several of them in coordination to make any useful movements. You can even tie this into the fact your brain really commands these movements.

Minds works like a computer that has memory on random, the owner could let other use it thru communications (input and output by memory) but it guarded and served mostly the body.
More sleep means more fats and developmental tissues for the body while the lack of it will deprived the owner of its utmost logical function. Age gets some factors to consider about sleeping, this as far as I have read them somewhere, that when you are young, you need 10-16 hours a day, teenage needs 8-10 hoursw a day, middle age needs 6-8 hours a day, aged needs a regular of 6 hours a day or else they will degraded themselves. But for the geniuses ate work, they only need 4-6 hours a day to keep up with their projects and solutions to the problem in minds.
