They chose their life path, and you should choose yours. It's selfish of them to choose for you when you have your own dreams. You will end up resenting them if you become something you have no interest in. And I wouldnt want a doctor treating me who is not into it. So youd be cheating them (patients) and yourself.
Your parents will have to learn to deal with disappointment. They are adults and if they cant get over it it is their problem not yours. You need to stand up for yourself or other people will be running your entire life.

It will cost so much time and money and energy to be a doctor. You could do it and then decide when you are more independant of your parents that it was the wrong choice and then you will have to start all over with your education. Sounds like you could be eating up time in your life trying to seek approval from others. If you know you don't wish this...don't waste time pursuing someone elses dreams.

You chose what you will want to do the rest of your life. Otherwise you will never be happy. If you do not know what you want to be, ask the nearest college to give you an Aptitude and Interest test. They are quite accurate in telling you both what you would like and what you would be good at.

I think it's safe to say that most if not all parents want their child to be a doctor.

Follow the path YOU want to follow, that's the only one that will make you happy.

Follow what YOU want. Its your life and if you don't do what you want you will never be happy and your parents cant fix that in the end. Good luck.

You must pursue your own goals. If you let them pressure you into being a doctor, you will not be a good one.

watch a movie named "Dead Poet's Society" with them...

now, its an extreme example and I don't suggest you do the same thing as the character does, but the message of pressuring a child into something they don't want is there.... andjust let them know that you have your own dreams and you don't want to be pressured into doing something you don't want...

NOTHING could be worse for your patients than for you to do this important work if you do not wish to be there. Be honest with your family. If they love you, they will get over it.

then you should explain how you feel about that. i'm sure your parents would rather see you be a happy person who is content at their job rather than someone who is meticulously living their dream.
