Acer is a very reliable brand. I had an Acer laptop for the past 4 years and it was working fine didn't give me any troubles. I recently sold it and bought another Acer 5633wlmiand its working perfectly fine. I would say go for the Acer brands. And whats more you get a whole years International warranty, meaning any major contry u go to will have an Acer workshop and u can give it to them to repair.

I have a very old Travelmate, all criterias are good and a quite solid machine.
