Breast feeding and walking. Another way to tighten up the waist area is to drape a broomstick over your shoulders and hold it with your arms extended. Twist your upper body gently while flexing your abdominal muscles. Worked great for me!

HI. I am in the same boat. I have 3 kids and the last one was a big baby and my belly got HUGE! Anyway, I am starting to loose the weight and I notice the excess skin. I had 3 c-sections so mine may be different. Anyway, the doctor said that skin has memory and that if you do muscle toning exercises for all abdominal muscles that it will help with the excess skin imensely! Also, it could take up to a year. I have started to rub skin firming lotion on my stomach everynight to see if that will help. I too don't want to have to resort to surgery but if after a year it doesn't firm up on it's own I will consider it....maybe she will too if loose skin isnt something she can live with. Good luck to her...I can understand where she's coming from

Did you have a c-section or a vaginal birth?
Exercise is the best way but the methods will vary based on what kind of birth you had, you cannot really start doing situps with staples in your belly............
Be reasonable. Try walking at first, even though it may not feel like it is helping.

Am wondering how long ago you gave birth..I've had three babies and each time it took about three months to go back to exactly how it was before the birth, and I always did crunches to help, starting about three weeks post-partum. Also, make sure you hold your tummy in all day, whenever you think of it, your tummy will be tight again in no time! (Now tell me how to get rid of my big bum!)

If you had baby vaginal, u can excerise (walking is wut i did), eat plenty fruits & vegies and continue to take ur prenatal vitamins, and wrap a ace bandage around your tummy (sleep with it, wear it everyday for about 2 months). Thats wut I did with both of my children. People tell me that I dont even look like Ive had 2 kids. I'm 5 weeks pregnant now and i plan on doing it after this baby is born too.

if your mother never lost hers, chances are you won't either. I've tried everything myself. Don't stop exercising it's good for you anyway.

You can try exercise, but as many moms will tell you, it's there for good.
