I would say it is also stating a position in opposition to many conservative Christian groups and the Catholic church who are against both contraceptives and abortion. I suppose in an ideal world that might be possible, but we have to deal with the world we live in, not the world we want; so, if you don't want abortions, you better be able to use birth control, because people won't stop having sex.

She is anti-abortion. If a girl is smart enough to use birth control, she won't get pregnant in the first place.

She's caught up in the current myth that "if everybody would just wear condoms the world would be a happy place."
Unfortunately, there is no birth control that is 100%, and only by keeping our legs closed and our pants zipped will we stop unwanted pregnancies and hence stop abortions.

It means that if people practice birth control, then babies will not be conceived. If there are no babies conceived, then abortions don't happen. She is probably against abortions.

She is sending women a message to use protection. It's up to the woman to protect herself. The woman is the one who will get pregnant, not the man. Protection is the alternative to carrying a baby for 9 months. Abortion shouldn't be the alternative.
