I am a US citizen, she is from the philippines. I want to marry her there but cant afford to keep flying there, I need to know how many times I actually will need to fly there. I have heard about a 10 day waiting period after filing for a license. I heard that you have to be there for a month also. Can somebody help me clear this up, would appreciate it.

Careful, ask someone from the US Embassy to advise you. or contact immigration and naturalization!

Hi! Congratulations!

I think you could follow the advice on doing your research first regarding your fiancéé's visa. But make sure its legal.

Additional option for you would be to use the fiancéé visa, get her to the US, do a civil marriage then travel back to the Philippines for the church wedding. But that would mean a total of 5 one-way tickets (3 for her, 2 for you).

Better yet make the time to have a long vacation (hopefully your work permits you ☺) so you can come here, visit and get to know her family, get married then you both of you can fly back to the US. That would be 2 one-way tickets total.

Whatever you decide, good luck and may you have the best marriage.

I can give you a phone number and address of someone in Caloocan City can perform your marriage and do all the paperwork for you for about $600 USD. All you will need to get is your "Capacity to Marry" from from US Embassy. Same day service for that. If your divorced you will need to bring your final divorce decree with you. Original or certified copy from the courthouse (if applicable) I arrived in Manila and had everything completed in about 2-3 days. However, I did end up staying there for 4 months anyway, (haha) Contact me by e-mail if you need to avisalbritton@yahoo.com

Have you been there to meet her? You only need to go there once to meet her, then the rest is all paperwork. If you are not completely stupid, you can do it all yourself. Just do homework. You need not lawyers, just get the information on the net, and do it. Everything is on the net. Find it and do a K-1 visa. K-1 is the only way to go. Don't be a fool. get the information, and get her here. A Philippine wife...is for life...

You can fly there, and marry her of course. Then file your petition with the U.S. embassy. It will take at least a year before she will get her visa to travel to the U.S. You can stop by your local immigration office, and get all the forms you'll need or download them for the USCIS.gov homepage. Start filling them out. The forms are a task themselves.

You will just need to fly there to marry her, and get her when her visa is granted. It is a good idea to go with her to her interview at the embassy, but not necessary.

but it's your choice what you want to do..

goodluck..and best wishes for both of you..
