Only if the car is in "park".
Taking a child out of a baby seat at any time while a car is in motion is just a bad idea. Period. I know it's a pain in the you-know-what, but if the baby has to be fed = pull over.

No, and only because of the safety of the infant- the baby would not be strapped in a car seat and therefore would be totally at risk if there were an accident. If the car was not moving- no problem with that- there is a way to be discrete- like a blanket to cover- and whoever HAS a problem with that, probably never was breastfed!

depends on the country. it maybe against the law for some countries and it may be allowed for others. in fact, i come from a country were some women breast feed in a public vehicle (bus, train etc). If it feels awkward but the need is there, the mother can cover her shoulder with a piece of cloth, big enough for anyone not to see what's going on inside the sheet. if the wind shield is tinted, it's probably okay. pediatricians greatly advice breast feeding for it not only properly nourishes the child, it also establishes a stronger bond between the mother and the child.
anyway..... if breast feeding becomes unavoidable, it still best for the mother and child to sit at the back..... besides, it's much safer!!!

Oh boy ! us human kind is always offending someone else. too bad the animals do the natural anytime, anywhere. When is all of this going to stop. My great grand mother never offended anyone when she breast fed my g/mother because they were expected to feed the infant when it was hungry. The mothers were frown upon if they ignored the crying infant. If it is comfortable and not offensive the anyone around her.
I sure hope that you're not talking about a moving vehicle but while the car is stationary.
It should be encouraged.

I don't know about okay, but if the baby is crying with hunger, and the woman's breasts are leaking milk--I don't see that there would be much choice--particularly if you are on a long trip.
I suppose the police and/or DMV would say to get in the back seat--or to stop the car entirely. That would be for safety reasons--but if you're in the middle lane on a freeway with no stop in reasonable distance, what are you supposed to do?

It is not okay if the car is moving. That is illegal and dangerous. But if the car is pulled over, then yes, it's absolutely fine. I have done it many times myself - and in the driver's seat even. When the baby's hungry, the baby's hungry!

That is absolutely ridiculous if the car is being driven, and or the Mother's breast isn't fully shielded from street passers. Mothers need to do whatever they have to in order to care for their children. But commonsense must always be enforced.

How about in the back seat because that is safer for the baby and the mother.
