Boot up with your Windows XP CD in the drive. You may need to go into the BIOS to change the boot order to boot-up to the CD instead of the hard drive. After you boot up to the CD, you can re install Windows XP. You may choose the Repair option of installation so that all your files will remain intact.

Hopefully, you still have your windows OS disks. Boot your computer to that disk and "reinstall" windows. When it asks about formatting your drive, select the "leave current filing system intact". This will keep all your current data but will reinstall the windows part of it (as opposed to wiping everything and starting fresh). That should fix your problem.
