Depending on what oyu signed he may take you to court to get the $$$. Plus, he could report it to a credit bureau but I don't know how likely that is. But you can forget about using him as a reference on your next rent/loan application.

you can sued for the amount you owe ,for the remaing time. having a jujdement against you will affect your rental refrances and your credit report.
