I do. I've always seen her as part of the crew and just temporarily away. There are many hints that also indicate this. This would put the current crew's count at 9. What do you guys think and why?

To lakale: Yes, she did refuse to go along with them, however, the invitation remained open. Vivi keeps appearing in One Piece specials and the such. She is also featured in the 8th One Piece Movie. At the end of this trailer you can see all of the Straw Hats in little squares, except for Franky, even Robin is there(although she was one of the bad guys in that arc).

Now, it would make sense if Robin wasn't in it to prove that Vivi is not part of the crew, but she is in it, meaning the picture was made after Robin joined and Vivi had left.

well they did ask her to join, but she turned down their offer to remain in Alabasta. she asked them if they could remain friends though (hence the whole raising their arms and showing the x to confirm their friendship). If you consider her part of the crew, you would also have to include the guy stuck in the treasure box (Luffy invited him too) and others.

Yes, I also consider Vivi as part of the Straw Hat Crew. I think Luffy and the others consider her too... Being part of a team doesn't mean that Vivi must join Luffy in his adventure. Vivi joins Straw Hat Crew in her own way by running her country (I think)...
