I am making a slideshow/video for my son's first year and I cannot for the life of me think of a song that would be good. Does anyone have any ideas?

I love the song "Blessed" by Elton John. I think it would make a very touching tribute to your son's first year. I guarantee there would not be a dry eye in the house!

Lyrics:
Hey you, you're a child in my head
You haven't walked yet
Your first words have yet to be said
But I swear you'll be blessed

I know you're still just a dream
your eyes might be green
Or the bluest that I've ever seen
Anyway you'll be blessed

And you, you'll be blessed
You'll have the best
I promise you that
I'll pick a star from the sky
Pull your name from a hat
I promise you that, promise you that, promise you that
You'll be blessed

I need you before I'm too old
To have and to hold
To walk with you and watch you grow
And know that you're blessed

For some reason I thought of the song "Hero" by Mariah Carey.

And with a bit of research and reflection, Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's music might fit. In particular, the song "E Ku'u Morning Dew" is nice.

Hope you find a good one.

God bless.

Is there a song that he loves when it comes on TV or hears it on the radio?
My son loves watching MTV and we always runs up to me and wedance togethor to his favourites (which are Black Fingernails Red Wine by Eskimo Joe, Maneater by Nelly Furtado and Crazy by Gnarls Barkley).
I do not know why he likes them, he just does so I would have used these to remind us of this time.

Do you have a song that you think suits your child, or that you sing to him? Or one that has his name in it?My little boys 2 and 4 always sing "Eva let your hair hang down," to our baby, Eva,so I would pick that song. Our two-year-old loves 'Buffalo Soldier' so for him, I'd pick that song, are you getting where I'm going? Something that ten or twenty years from now will send you right back to this time when you hear it!

Take a picture - Filter

Awake on my airplane
Awake on my airplane
My skin is bear
My skin is theirs
Awake on my airplane
Awake on my airplane
My skin is bare
My skin is theirs
I feel like a newborn
And I feel like a newborn
Awake on my airplane
Awake on my airplane
I feel so real

[Chorus:]
Could you take my picture
'Cuz I won't remember
Could you take my picture
'Cuz I won't remember
Could you take my picture
'Cuz I won't remember
Yeah

I don't believe in
I don't believe in
In your sanctity
Your privacy
I don't believe in
I don't believe in
Sanctity
A hypocrisy
Could everyone agree that
No one should be left alone
Could everyone agree that
They should not be left alone yeah
And I feel like a newborn
And I feel like a newborn
Kicking and screaming

[Chorus]

Hey dad what do you think about your son now
Ah hey dad what do you think about your son now
