Heroes of Ardania is the free RPG spinoff of the Award winning fantasy kingdom sim Majesty. When you register your account you choose from a number of classes for your hero, from your standard warrior types, to rangers, monks, and even cultists. Your initial registration nets you 200 gold and 200 turns, and you get one additional turn per hour therafter (Even when logged out, so every day is another 24 turns).

Another free RPG-esque game, though this one is animated, where HoA is more text-based. Every character starts about the same, but from that point you can buy more powerful spells, or weapons and armor, or work on quests that grant you new attacks and thus make your character your own. From mighty dragonslayers, to Werewolves and Ninjas...you can be whatever you want. (Oh, and don't forget to log on during National Talk like a Pirate Day!)

The LifeTime TV site has good, free, online games. I like the matching game "The Queen's Jewels".
Additional Details: They have multiplayer games, but I do not know anything about those. You might want to check and see for yourself since your are bored.
