No! They don't wash the bedspreads or the blankets. The moment you go into a hotel room, strip the bedspread down and keep it on the end of the bed. People sit on those things naked without even thinking! You should be safe if you only sit or sleep between the sheets. It's wise to wear slippers or flip-flops when walking on the carpet and bathroom floors, too - just in case.

My brother worked at a verrrry nice hotel and informed me that they only wash the bedspreads and blankets once a week. Sheets and pillow cases are washed daily.
There has been a large increase of bedbugs over the past few years in hotels. This is due largely to regulations against using stronger toxic chemicals.
Take a bottle of disinfectant and skin so soft with you to the hotel and spray the bedspreads.

This is so very true. I have been in the rooms as the maid cleans, and I have witnessed this myself. Most of them just change the sheets, I have never seen them change blankets or comforters. Creepy huh? I'm not even sure that they are very thorough in the bathrooms. I saw a show, I think it was on 20/20, where they tested the bacteria found in hotel rooms, well, needless to say, I never wanted to sleep in a hotel room as long as I lived. Now the new item that they are finding in hotel rooms is bed bugs. Horrifying.

NO. They do not wash the bedspreads OR the blankets on a regular basis. ONLY the sheets and pillow cases. The bedspread is the nastiest.

No they are not. I always take it off the bed. They don't wash the blankets each time either. Just pull the sheets well up

I've heard it's just the sheets. Makes you think twice about how you sit on the bed! Yucko!

Depends on the hotel quality. Stay away from one star hotels. Two stars is... not bad. Three stars and up is the best and cleanest.
But yes they clean everything.
