I'll do you one better. My family and I went to eat at the Denny's near King's Dominion in Virginia and we found sand fleas in our salads...Still alive even. We left without paying or saying anything to anyone.

Yes, it was an upscale Italian eatery, and there was a long hair in my northern Italian cuisine! The chef's area was visible and sure enough he had a pony tail. I asked the server to take the food back, and I ordered a different entree because I kept thinking about that hair!! I was only able to eat a small portion of the meal. And I am not a squeamish person. It was more that the hair was so long and entwined in the pasta, yuck! We didn't pay for our food that day, but I left the server a big tip because he was sicker about it than I was.

Call the waiter and show him the hair in your food- they should give you a new meal and most places, would comp your meal for the inconvenience- at least the better restaurants will. I don't know why they stopped the ordinance of people preparing foods from wearing hair nets but I am a believer they should where not only a hair net, but a bathing cap! and don't forget facial hair- I think food servers and preparers should have to be clean shaven--- who knows what evil germs live in those burly curls!!!

Yeah, a few times and it didn't really bother me, I don't think I would complain unless there was something gross about it (like it was small and curly). I grew up in a house with lots of animals and there's always hair in your food here and there so to me it's not a big deal, and even if it's the waitress or cook's hair I figure it's not really any different than if it was my mom's or something...it's just hair. I just take it out. Some people freak out as if someone took a crap in their spaghetti and it's so stupid. Even the FDA allows for a certain amount of rat hair (among other things) to end up in our food. Happy eating.

I wouldn't call Mcdonald's dining out. I don't even eat McD's but I was babysitting so I just ordered chicken Mcnuggets and right on top was a long hair. Not mine because it was black. I walked up to the counter and told them it had a hair and they gave me another box. (I watched to be sure they didn't just remove the hair)

I've had a hair in the salad, etc a time or two. I just discreetly remove it and don't eat the portion where the hair was. If it's something more than a hair I would end the dish back.
I was at a camp meeting in Hawaii years ago and a bunch of us were really enjoying the chili until one of the guys noticed a dead cockroach in his bowl. No one finished their chili.

Yes. I was at Pizza Hut and I had taken out 1 slice for my daughter and I had 1 slice on my plate. I had taken 1 bite when I seen the hair. I told the manager and she offered me a 30% discount. Can you believe that?!? I was really trying to be cool about it until then. I told her that wasn't good enough, so they made us a new pizza and I got the discount on that one. ...they actually thought I was going to finish eating the other one if they gave me a discount. Please!
