It consists of clearing off the extra food, napkins, plates etc. that are left on the plate after the customer leaves. They are also responsible for wiping the tables clean. They're job primarly consists of doing the dirty work behind the scenes.

Clear the tables of dirty dishes, cups and silverware; clean the tables; bring the water to the customers (and sometimes other beverages), refill coffee. They also might fill salt, pepper, ketchup, sugar, etc., and fill up milk or cream for coffee. In some restaurants they fold the napkins in a particular way. They bring the dirty dishes to the kitchen, and sometimes bring customers things like extra napkins or anything else they might ask for.

Well it usually depends what restaurant they work at.. but basically.. cleaning the tables for the servers after the customers are done eating, taking out the trash, going around checking to see if anything needs done.. seeing if the servers need help, sometimes if you work for a family owned business.. prepping the silverware, and getting side work done. hope this helps!

Most places........ they buss all the dishes off the table, wipe down the table and re set up the tables. They take all the dishes to the dish tank in the back of the resturant and empty out their buss tubs to the dish washer.

Restaurant bussers, or busboys usually just run meals out to tables and clear dishes. They don't usually do any handling of money or customers at all.

Generally, just clearing and re-setting tables.
And if there is time, refilling waters and pre-bussing tables.
That's the usual in most places I've ever worked in the last 20 years !!
