I think that it depends on the situation and an individuals threshold for pain..

if someone really is remorseful, and wants a second chance than they should be forgiven, unless it has become a pattern of behavior, and a way of life. know that there is always a chance the same thing may happen again, or it may not. depends on how good the relationship is, and has been. no one really wants to leave someone they love, and everyone can make a mistake, but if they didn't learn the first time chances are they won't. if he is willing to acknowledge the problem is his, and doesn't start blaming the victim, and is willing to allow the other person a chance to communicate their hurt without wanting to shut that person up or avoid it than yes he deserves another chance, but one chance only. anymore than that and it is a mistake and will strip away the self worth of the person being cheated on.

depends on the situation. if it was a one time thing then yes they deserve a second chance. after that there are no more chances. also if they have been doing something for a long time without getting caught til later then there is no second chance because they know how to hide things and are only sorry because they got caught

Remorse? Remorse and consequences should be considered before one decides to cheat on their spouse or significant other. When they were screwing around, did they actually have their loving spouse in mind?

Cheat once and the cheater can never be trusted again. I've seen enough of the cheating from close friends and their cheating/divorces/wasted wedding gifts. My wife and I have a standing policy based on our friends histories: the one that cheats and gets caught, leaves the other with the house and custody of the kids.

Once it happens, you may not talk about it, but it will always be in the back of your mind. Ignored...Maybe? –– Forgotten...Never!

i would have said the same thing...i kept threatening the love of my life...that i was going to leave if he didn't stop his addiction....he kept talking to his ex wife and I didn't like that because he wasn't with me for a long time because of her....i felt like second best..but things were looking good for our relationship...i gave him chance after chance. You know what happened? He told me he's not in love with me..after all of the **** I put up with...and they're most likely getting back together.

yeah totally, if they are worthy of a second then yes why not?? but then again depends how hurt you get in the process are you able to move on can you forgive that person enough to give them a second chance, but they will always have to pay the conseqeunces too!!!

Second chance, yes. After that, well, you would have to question just how "truly remorseful" they are...

"Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me"

Having said that, I am grateful that I have been granted more than one second chance when I have erred in my ways. But I would not expect that anyone deserves more than two chances.

2nd chance at what? Adultry? Murder? A lie? I would have a hard time trusting in any of the above.
