Some state rules differ but I believe , based on where I've lived, the majority of states allow a part time job at 16

In most states you won't have to get any sort of paperwork. Some states (and in Canada) limit the number of hours a student can work. Check with your school office for more info.

You should be able to just walk in and apply, But a letter of recommendation from your school might be a good thing to have just in case.

you must get a work permit from your school and you should get school credit too.
