I would recommend a Disney Cruise.
I had the same issue as you...with the added need to have an hour or two of child care here and there.
Disney has a WONDERFUL nursery on board for $5/hr. The people who run it are Disney employees and licensed child care providers--and in a nursery setting with lots of people I don't worry about what could happen to my little princess (I couldn't bear to leave her alone with a "babysitter" whom I don't even know!). There are adults only areas on the ship and the whole thing is incredibly well run.
During the other times there are tons of activities and fun for the adults and the little ones! And lots of families who are looking for the same thing as you. Of course there is a terrific stop at their private owned Cay--lots of beach and clean water.
Good luck!

Maybe the Disney cruise....kid friendly...you can spend all of your time with her, and you get the beaches and water as well...... also we took our 1 yr old and 7 yr old to Williamsburg, Virginia.. we all loved it....and our pictures are great! They got to bring water out of a well, which the one yr old loved, they watched the drummer boys march and play down the street, he also loved this.... also we like to make our vacations fun and educational and this one was great. Washington DC was only an hour or two away so we also took them to the museums there.... so even if you wait a while to take her here....I would definitely recommend it.
tinytravelers.net has vacations that are catered to infants and children under 3..they also give you advice from doctors on traveling with baby, what to pack, and what to expect. They have a 10 ten baby friendly vacation list too. This list is for spending time with your baby not dropping them off in a daycare which is what you are looking for. Hope this helps

First of all, I wanted to commend you on taking your baby with you. I have twin 18 month old daughters and my husband and I are waiting until they are potty trained to take them on a vacation. We have only been on one vacation without them and it was our honeymoon when they were 11 months old, my mother-in-law watched them and we were only 45 mins away.
Anyway, back to you, I have looked at beaches resorts alot recently and they seem to have a lot of family friendly vacations. But It looked like they were mainly in Jamaca.
I wouldn't suggest going anywhere that you would have to go on a plane. I have heard from other parents that it is very difficult to take small children on planes, even on short flights.
I would suggest to you to go to maybe a beach if you are into that, because most babies like to play in water.
Also, maybe stay in the city and go to the aquarium if you have one or to the zoo. When My mother-in-law had our girls, she took them to the zoo and she said they loved it.
Is there any way to stay near relatives so when you do want a little alone time , they can watch the baby for a little while?
My aunt lives in Tampa, FL, and that is where we will probably go for a vacation next, it will be so nice to have someone I trust to watch the girls and have some peace after a long drive!
I just wouldn't go too far, as you will be having to stop often to change diapers and get snacks, etc.
Don't go any where that requires too much walking, hiking, etc.
A beach I liked in Florida was clearwater beach because it was very easy to get around.
Siesta Key is also nice, it was a little quiter and cleaner.

I would probably get a map of my own state and find all the parks and recreational areas the children's museums and zoo, aquariums and such things, then rent an RV and go on a road trip. You have room for the kids to play around in the RV when you aren't sightseeing your very own state or the neighboring one. You could picnic in the state park they have many family oriented things to do and you can never go wrong with a zoo or aquarium with a 10 month old, I would think most places have RV hookups. Home away from home. :)

Rent a house for a week at the Jersey Shore. In June it is not too crowded and the beach is pleasant. Ocean City, NJ has a wonderful boardwalk and restaurants. It is a dry town, but you are minutes away from Atlantic City and and about 35 minutes from Wildwood.

I would not recommend any major theme parks like Disney or Universal. Places like those should be visited when kids are old enough to appreciate them and so you could enjoy them as well and not have to worry about strollers, diapers..etc. Just go to the beach.

I would suggest something in the state you live in. Something not to far from home but far enough to know you are on vacation. There are many zoos you could visit. I would stay away from anything to flashy since your child cant appreciate it, but this is just my opinion

I would say the ocean, you can take pictures of her in the sand and in the water. You could go to a zoo (miami has a nice one and so does san diego) and push her around in her stroller, thats something you guys can enjoy as well.
