Here in Colorado, we don't get school cancelled unless we have at least 7 or 8 inches. However, I imagine that would be different elsewhere. If you look at the website for a television news station, there will often be a link telling which schools will be cancelled.

Check local tv and radio stations. It says in our school's handbook which stations cancellation notices will be on. Or call the school.
