I have always put mine in the washer and dryer. Yours should have a label on it to tell you how to clean. But,it did not hurt mine at all. I wash and dry it a couple times a year. If you don't want to do this, there is a drycleaning kit at the grocery stores that would work, I have used it on jacket, sweaters and slacks.

I think they all have a cleaning instructions tag on them, but you can search the web for "cleaning [brand name] electric blankets".
Mine is in the attic and I'm too lazy to go look at it, sorry.

Personally, I wouldn't dream of washing an electric blanket. If it's so grubby, throw it out and buy a new one, better be safe than sorry!

Did you look on the package? Dry cleaning maybe? Or perhaps Febreze.

Mine tells me to wash it in the washing machine on gentle, and dry on low heat. I hung it up to dry though. Came out OK
