When my son was born, of course our lives changed dramatically, but instead of being a burdon, our travel fun was sooooo increased!!! We took him EVERYWHERE! You won't want to go to hot and humid places, or extreme cold, so plan on a good time of year, checking out the weather patterns for your choices. If you like road trips, Santa Fe is a wonderful place with lots to do and see. NM is NOT a big desert. My family is from Taos, NM so I know. I live in Los Angeles, but am from San Francisco, both places are very family friendly. I am not fond of LA, but hey we have Disneyland, and for a family with an infant, thats gotta be one of the best places, as well as Knotts Berry Farm, just a few miles west of D'land. Los Angeles Zoo has had a huge face lift and so much better than when I was a kid...my son is 15 and still LOVES the LA Zoo. I love the SF zoo too, not far from Golden Gate park, another wonderful family place...the Japanese Tea Garden is a great place for a pre toddler to check out...and the Steinhardt Aquarium right nearby. I know they are terribly touristy, but hey when ya got a good thing.... hope you take LOTS of pictures and videos with your tot and enjoy yourselves!!!

You didn't indicate where you live, or whether or not you'll be driving or flying, or how far you're willing to go. I would suggest Disney Land or Disney World.

Now that I've read where you're from, etc., you could still go to Disney Land. But the grand canyon and the petrified forest are great places to go too!

The best would be for you to visit relatives that live away from you. She and they would be in heaven. Amusement parks such as Disney would not be good. Rent a place on a beach, such as Nags head. She is really a little too young to really enjoy much. Next year, she will be old enough to enjoy and comprehend most enjoyable places. She is still a baby. Please take her with you.

She's 10 months old. She won't understand anything or remember anything. Just take her places where you and your husband can have a good time and a screaming/laughing/babbling baby won't annoy other people.
