um i am stupid i messed around with my comp. and now its kind of messed up so im thinking of using system restore to go back before it was messsed up Im not sure if its works though or how long it will take.... do any of you guys know?

How long it takes depends on the number of changes it has to make to get you back to that saved point.
Keep in mind that System Restore only backs up Windows files. If the problem you're experiencing is related to a program that you've installed, chances are that the restore isn't going to help.
However, you have the option of backing out of the restore at any time going back to the point you left.

Yes, do system restore to a point before you messed it up and it will be done in a few minutes

Best thing to come along in a long time. System restore works fine. It is not horribly time consuming (on the order of minutes, because you have to do a restart.)

Yes, it has worked for me a few times. Just set it to the date you want to go back to. It only takes a couple of minutes or so. Your computer will have to shut down and then reboot, if I remember correctly. That's it. Hope it works for you too!
