I don't know the actual mermaid mythology, but it is interesting to note that some sharks such as the Swellshark, Catshark and the Horn shark all lay an egg case either attached to seaweed or in rock crevices. These egg cases are known as Mermaid's Purse.

So maybe the story of how mermaids reproduce has something to do with Mermaid's purses. I'm not sure, but this would be a good reseach question.

The merman have tentacles behind his back, so, they put one of tentacles, through the mermaid mouth through and through into her womb, the process is painfull, that is why all mermaid avoid their merman. Luckily the merman never interested with seks and never pursue mermaid because their live is immortal ^^v After 77 months, the mermaid gave birth an egg like chicken egg but big, a very big egg and the merman task is nurtured them until the egg hatches and there is merboy or mergirls :)

How do fish reproduce?

If their bodies from waist down are fish-tails......

I assume the Mermaid sprays some eggs somewhere and the Merman comes along and sprays sperm onto them....like fish do.

sexual reproduction that is a mix of fish and human intercourse. it is a natrual phenomon that a human may be lucky to see once in their lifetime. like a beautiful dance especialy because of the shiny scales in the water reflecting the sun.

Since their bodies are scaled, I would say like fishes.

The female lays her eggs at the bottom of the sea, on a pebble bed. Then the male comes by and sprays his milt onto them.

NOW... SERIOUSLY. They reproduce in your mind only because they don't exist... DUH!!!
