Um... like hip-hop and lyrical/jazz??? yeah those. But i dont wana be a cheap dancer. Like a really good one. Will i be able to do that if I start at 18? Im 16 now but cant start financially. But I went to tap for like 4 months and I went to my dance team for like 5 months. I really wanna do this.

I'm gonna assume that you are a guy based on your avatar. Congrats and props to you on wanting be become a dancer. No, you are not too old.... my son started at age 16 and if he hadn't had two untimely injuries he'd have been dancing ballet professionally. If you want to start seriously dancing you will need to take ballet (No - I don't care if you don't want to), Modern and Jazz. First thing is to find the right studio and dance teacher(s). Second, guys are always in short supply and you might be able to get your tuition reduced or even waived if you are dedicated and good enough. There are some guys who have gotten through college on dance scholarships. Take all disciplines of dance - not just one because all styles incorporate aspects of the others. Good Luck

It's never too late to learn.
People in their 50's are taking lessons.

After taking lessons for a year I can't stop. I just wish I had the urge when I was 18.

(Men that dance get all the women, trust me) and it's probably one of the best exercises around. I could never get myself to go to the gym even after having 2 memberships but dancing I could go every night.

You can even practice alone as some places have Ballroom line dancing so you can practice the cha cha, the swing, the rhumbas etc.

You are the perfect age to go and audition for music videos and tours, if that's what you want.

And if you want to learn to be great, then you are also still at a really good age. Dancing isn't just about ability, it is about willingness to work. If you want to be good, you just practice. If you believe you can do it, if you WANT it, then yes you will get it

Good luck.

no, it's not too late! if it's what you want, you can succeed.

are there are dance classes at your high school...if so, take them. If not, see if any high schools nearby offer them, that way you can take classes for free.

one of my dance teachers (a man) didn't start danicng until college, and he ended up a soloist for the martha graham company during the last years of martha's life. if he did, you can too.

good luck.

dude it is never too late to do anything. it's too late when you're laying on a death bed. you can start that age and never stop practicing and you can get really good in as little as 2 years. if you set your mind to it you can do anything. if you have a passion for dancing then do it and don't let anybody ever stop you or tell you that you can't do something. a person can do anything they want to if they set their mind to it and stick to the goal.
