I use a treadmill and try a step class, but don't do well with exercising in the winter. I belong to a gym, but can't get motivated to go. Over the last 2 years, I've lost 60lbs. 15lbs have crept back. Help me please!!

I'll second the idea for buying a recumbant bike. Or a treadmill of your own, or an elliptical. Then put it in front of the TV/Tivo/PS3/DVD player, and never do one without the other.

Drink nothing but water. Except maybe juice. But no soda, beer, wine, etc.

Weigh yourself DAILY. You weigh more at the end of the day, so you may want to try to incorporate that into mind games you play with yourself.

you should never aim to lose more than 2lb a week. a faster rate of loss will mean you're burning muscle rather than fat (which can cause health problems and anyway will mean that the weight will all go right back on again as soon as you start eating normally again. if you need to shed 15lbs, you should plan for it to take more like 2 months. there is no 'one' way to help keep yourself motivated, because different things work for different people. Some people find sticking a picture of themselves on the fridge or kitchen cupboard helps, some people find drawing a graph to track their progress helpful, some people find having a diet 'buddy' helps, there's a lot of argument for setting shorter term goals (goals which take no more than 2-3 days to achieve, for example) and for 'rewarding' yourself when you reach the goals. There's evidence to suggest that keeping yourself properly hydrated is important, so that means drinking about 2 litres of clear water every day (that's about 4 british pints or 5 american)

Exercise is healthy and should be mandatory but it won't substitute for diet .. I've conferred with several physicians on this ! Make out a list of the foods that you think are best and disipline yourself to follow your plans . I recommend high fiber vegetarian as is the healthiest according to NIH. and most Doctors that deal in special weight management but you decide what you can handle.
peace out

Just get up and go! Concentrate on working out and making your body feel good. Take those classes and lift those weights! Eat as best as you can but don't deprive yourself. Make fitness goals, not weight goals and with it will come the good looking body and weight loss. Bottom line, don't spend the time sweating it, just go break a sweat!

You can do lots to get motivated to workout: ask a friend to join you in working out, get your fam and friends to support you, set goals each week, and track all of your progress. And just think about how much happier you'll be once you reach your goals.

have a personal train and be accountable to them. Last year my trainer made me do ten sets of stairs if I ate wrong foods and it sometime made me think twice.

dieting is a decision... you have to decide you're going to do it. and stick with it...

It might be good to associate certain types of foods that are bad for you as disgusting or even nausiating... Visualize that twinkie then repeat to your self, "It looks looks and feels like a SLUG... It's feeling tastes like worm juice! It's disgusting and I hate it"...

I know it sounds stupid... but it helps... I lost 72 lbs. in like 4 weeks this way.

Oh, BTW, I tried the atkins diet for 2 weeks and lost 14 days!!

Why don't you try changing the kind of foods you eat. Like the fried chicken, or macaroni and cheese. Greesy Greesy stuff, maybe then you wouldn't need to excersize to lose weight. I think you look beautiful and should be more comfertable in your own skin.

Buy a cheap recumbent (sp?) bike. They will help you burn calories in the winter, and are cool because you can watch tv or read while using it...in your own home. You can also climb stairs in your house, take walks, and do housework to burn calories.
