In an upcoming concert I have the chance to play a bass solo. Does anybody have any ideas? My band sounds close to the sounds of Breaking Benjamin and Staind with a dash of Skrape thrown in for good measure.

Depending on which song i'm playing, I play with both my fingers and picks.

Try to check out " School Days" by Stanley Clarke. I know it's a jazz fusion track, but the unsuspecting concert goers will be blown away if you could learn it...

MQ: common i imagine you've composed an exceedingly good record of both technically experienced and unique memorable bass gamers. i'm a guitar participant yet I deffinitely delight in bass gamers for what they upload to a metallic band and for his or her ability (**** i'm able to't play bass lol). MQ2: Hmm That record is exceedingly good yet i imagine 2 human beings i'd certainly evaluate including will be Alex Webster and Jeff Hughell. i'd probably replace Myung with a minimum of one of those 2 because actually i'm no longer a Dream Theater fan. they're no longer my style of music.

The Fish by Chris Squire of the band Yes. See albums Fragile and Yessongs (live version with a jam with the drummer)

Throw in some of that black sabbath, that's funky

Do you play with fingers or with a plec? If with fingers, learn some slap and pluck and make it daring, or some Rage against the machine... if with a plec, mess with bass chords higher up on the guitar.

Anything Rush. Geddy Lee is pretty much amazing.

I would say Victor Wooten, but I think that mayyyy be a bit out of your league.
