whats the diff between Q = MCdeltaT and Q = ML?
and when do i use them

Q=MCdeltaT:

Q is measured in joules; M is a mass; C is the specific heat of the substance; delta T is the change in temperature (final minus initial).

Q=ML:

This is for latent heat, and the L can have one of two subscripts: V or F, which is vaporization or fusion, depending on if the substance is melting or boiling. M, again is mass, and Q ends up being a unit of energy, joule. L is different for different substances.

Both of these equations are useful in calorimetry.
