PITCHES ARE GOOD AT THE SOUTH AFRICA. BUT THEY HELP THE BATSMAN ALSO.IF THE BATSMAN IS SOLID IN TECHNIQUE EASILY OVER RUDE THE BOWLER.FOR ODI THIS TYPE OF PITCHES PLAY THE ROLE OF CULPRIT.BECAUSE PEOPLE WANT PLENTY OF RUNS,FROM THE BAT OR INDIRECTLY IT IS THE MATCH OF BATSMAN.THIS TYPE OF PITCHES IS GOOD FOR TEST MATCHES.

Greandean is 100% right!! If pitches in South Africa were so bad, especially for ODI's, how come South Africa and Australia scored 872 between them last year!! Same for NZ, as in December 2005 NZ sucessfully chased 332 against Australia. There is a balance around the world for pitches that favour batters and bowlers - it is down to the skill of the individual players to adapt to the conditions accordingly.

if south African pitches help bowlers how come Australia scored 434 and south Africa scored 435 a while back in a odi, whats the alternative-flat pitches and small grounds like the sub Continent where the bowlers don't stand a chance, maybe India just need better bowlers? VARIETY IS THE SPICE OF LIFE AND CRICKET!!

In south Africa its very hot and the surface is also very hard but in new land its different the ball will not come to the bat almost there is cold condition and the pitch will not help for batsman to play the shot free and the ball will much seem and move in the windy condition that is reason to S.A and New land pitches are find more difficult to bat on

i think they are the perfect pitches for ODI's... it has got good even bounce and the batsman can confidently play their shots... its is good for bowlers as well specially with the new ball... i dont think it gives they too much help coz australia and south africa managed to cross 400 and sanath jayasuriya thrashed the fast bowlers in the recent new zealand series...
