Realizing that I was gay gave me freedom. It allowed me to explore right into myself to find out who I was. There's no pretense here. When it comes to me ..really'what you see is what you get'...Being gay also allows me to enjoy whatever sports or hobbies or interests that I enjoy without having it appear than I'm not quite masculine enough or perhaps too feminine...It basically taught me to be ME.

I've grown into a much more compassionate person since coming out to my friends. I feel that I have a purpose, which is to support others and let them know as well as possible that it's okay to be exactly who we are and not have to worry about the pressures society places on us. I'm very active on the topic of gay rights.
As a bisexual person, I also have the advantage of being able to understand what one sex thinks of the opposite, or the same, because I don't have that insecurity or pressure that straight people have to not view or conceive a certain thing about either sex.

I would be scared to get beat up and ridiculed outside of a gay environment. How would that be an advantage? To be discriminated against, have different treatment, protection under the law, less rights??? No advantage there.

I don't feel that it's an advantage. I'd like to believe that if I was straight, I'd be just as happy in my relationship, and just as miserable in my job. I honestly don't think being gay changes my life - except for how my mother feels about me.

To feel like a stronger person in the end when you can be yourself without letting others stop you. Another is gays are more likely to not limit themselves or let themselves be limited to gender roles and act how they like, including how they dress.

Chuck,
I don't want to hurt your feelings but I just want to tell you that being a gay doesn't give you a great benefit. First of all, God created only Adam and Eve. In other words, only straight men and women are those who are really favorable to God's eyes. If you want to enter the kingdom of God, you must stop being a gay. In contrast, I want to tell you that you should know yourself. You must not be ashamed and you should remain confident of who you are. Don't let homosexuality destroy you as a person.

Chuck,
My biggest advantage is to know you. And for that, it is the most advantage because I realize that I am not alone.
Love,
Keith

Yes! I get to be different, and even though it carries challenges, it makes you stronger.
