If it's just a demo you should at lest have 3 songs but no more then 5 I think. You dont want to give them to much. Just let them get a taste.

You are getting an answer from a rapper moving on to Aftermath Entertainment so this should be good advice to you - atleast have 5 songs on a demo atleast 15 songs on a mixtape and atleast 15+ on an album.

For a demo you don't want more than five. You should make more than five songs like let's say you make ten songs you should choose five of the ones you and other people like to be on the demo. The less songs you have on a demo the better because what if you have some songs that are good and some that are bad you don't want bad ones if you are trying to get signed so you should have five only and make them nice go to soundclick.com if you are looking for free professional beats.

I have a Hip hop Demo, and I wrote 17 songs , but used beats
that were already used... e.g Fabolous' " Breath",
Don't matter how many you've got, it's the skill in the Demo that is required!!!
Keep reppin it for the Hop , Homeboy, dig!
