I had a laporoscopy performed around 6 years ago. There was a little endo found and removed. I have not had problems since. I have also has 2 x abortions. I am very worried about suffering an Ectopic pregnancy because of this history. Has anyone been though similar experiences and had a successful pregnancy?

Don't listen to all of these negative answers they dont know your history you may have been raped and had to get the abortions, or you may have aborted when you were a stupid teenager, and you may be a completely different and more mature person now. And for you **** that wrote about endometriosis on the first answer, go read about it on the net because you dont even know what it is, endometriosis has nothing to do with abortion.

Anyway back to you sweety, I have had 3 operations for endometriosis Laperoscopy, Hysteroscopy and D&C. I have never had an abortion, but operation for endometriosis are alot more invasive than an abortion. For all of you that dont know endometriosis is a hereditary disease that is the number one cause of infertility where the egg falling from the fallopian tube splashes into the outside areas instead of going into the tube and sticks to the uterus etc causing extremely painful periods, insides to stick together and in extremem cases infertility.
My mother just had to get a hysterectomy for the same problem.

Aftere my last operation the doctors said I had too much scar tissue on my ovaries and uterus etc that my chances of having kids would be cut down quite bad and that I would have to be with someone very fertile to be able to get me pregnant and to have kids before 28. You have only had one operation so I don't imagine it would have affected you too much, the abortions may have affected a bit, but with all of the operations I have had I am now 7 weeks pregnant so never say never.

You can try, if you cant get pregnant there are loads of other options like IVF treatment, and more difficult scenarios adoption. I am sure you should be fine, If your abortions were before your endometriosis laperoscopy the doctor would have seen your insides and would have told you if you have loads of scar tissue or not and your chances of having kids. The best thing you can to is go to your gyno and get checked out, I am sure you will be able to have kids :)

Best of luck

To address the actual question asked, abortions have nothing to do with Endometriosis. Increased rates of infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, and ectopic pregnancies are all associated with the disease, however. BUT with proper treatment, most women with Endo who want to conceive, do. There are literally millions of women out there who have suffered pregnancy related issues as a result of their Endo and once they obtained treatment, they were able to successfully go on to having children. Read this article: http://www.centerforendo.com/endoq&a.htm (scroll down to pregnancy if you're not interested in any of the other facts). Then visit http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/erc and chat with the countless others there who understand and have been where you are. Good luck to you.

Ok people stop jumping on the girl she's more then likely young. And her parents might have given her the choice to get an abortion or leave the home. if you were a child which would you choose? you don't have your own home and you'd be living on the streets with a baby then what. you don't know her situation so don't judge the girl! Who are all ya'll to come out the bag on the girl you don't know what she's been through. She could have been raped by family or something horible like that....i just wanted to state that for the rude people who think their god and have the right to judge. You should have an successful pregnancy but keep in mind your history so expect the good and the bad. good luck...

They can use an ultra sound to check vaginally, the same thing happen to me and it was an ectopic. As long as she is still in the hospital she should be ok, this is nothing to take lightly and I can see why you are worried. Just wait until the doctors give her word of what is going on.

I've never had an abortion so I won't comment on that other than to say I do not judge you and you are free to choose what was best for you at the time. To say you don't derserve children is disgusting.
However, I do have endo and to my total surprise I am now 25 weeks pregnant with my first! I thought i wouldn't have enough endometrial tissue to support the bab and suffered horrendous cramps in the beginning but the dr reassured me that there is plenty for baby and to relax.

Good luck with everything and take care of yourself.

I think you should talk to a doctor. I don't know anyone whos been through it but I do have friends who have had abortions. I think your chance is just as good as anyone else to have a baby.

Good luck.

I agree with the person above! Dont have kids, let the people who deserve them have the babies.
