I would say arranged...since divorce would dishonor the family in most cases. Some parents know more as to what it takes to make a marriage work and that is what most of us want when it comes to marriage. A parent usually isn't going to set you up with the guy that works at mcdonalds, and been to jail several times. They want what is best for you also. Love is a decision...so in an arranged marriage they can choose to love one another or not either way they continue to stick it out. Now when we pick our own mate we tend to follow our lustful hearts, blinded to flaws, we may or may not make it...and it can all change on a whim. We have the freedom to decide it's not for us...and just walk away. Some make the choice to stay. But America's divorce rates are way up there...which is probably why the new trend is to just fornicate...make lots of babies, go for support, n make life hell for them until you can't any longer.

Majority love. It's is important to be married with love. If it's a marriage without love, don't you think you are living with a stranger after the arranged marriage. If marriage without love, don't you think it's very risky. You don't know the person at all, the personality (most important). What's if this person is mentally unstable?

Both can be sucessful, but both can go terribly wrong too. Arranged marriage isn't part of my culture, but I always thought it would be kind of fun in that not so serious fantasy that can end any time you want it to kind of way. Of course, at the same time it might be dreadful, I can only imagine the type of person my parents would set me up with heh, it would probably be some religious nut who doesn't believe in birth control and insists that I have children. Yuck.

I don't know anything about arranged marriages. But, I would assume they are more successful because LOVE is NOT the only criteria. Marriage is about commitment. If you base marriage solely on LOVE, once you think the love is gone, the marriage is over.

The best marriage may be both formed on arrange and love because the best relationship appear when BOTH OF THE PARTNERS EXPECT ONE AND THE SAME THING OF IT.
For example, both want to care and love and to be loved. Or both want success in buseness and wouldn't ask for a large house with plenty of children. Another successful case is INTEREST OF BOTH SIDES. I mean one want to care and another need to be cared.

While arranged marriages - they could grow to love each other, I'd prefer to start with love.

Arranged. Obvioiusly those people didn't have the guts to turn from their parents their stuck together. Love marraiges are confusing because the people would rather be fighting with someone they love than making out with someone they don't.
