You were falling thru some pit, and you can't scream, and you don't reach the end of the pit...You just keep falling deeper and deeper and deeper?

My guess is that you are in some terrible fix and don't quite know how to get out of it. You aren't telling anyone else about it (you don't "scream") but realize you are on a downward spiral and are terrified. You haven't seriously attempted to stop whatever is going on yourself (example: "grabbing onto a branch on a cliff") and you continue to fall in space. You don't even reach the end of this terrifying scare by hitting the floor of the pit -- you just keep on going as you have since this thing started.
My advice: "Scream" (talk to a trusted friend, clergy person, or counselor about what is really bothering you).
And since you have posted this dream-related question in the Friends forum, I am wondering if this has something to do with your circle of friends. Perhaps the issue at hand is something so personal you would not even talk about it with your friends.

Not about falling in a pit, but I have been so frightened in a dream that I couldn't scream. I even wrote a short story once about it, except I added a twist at the end...that when I woke up, I couldn't scream.

i had this one dream, the worst ever, i mean.. the ony time i've ever had my mom rush in my room and wake me up because i was screaming in real life.
My friend was standing talking to someof his friends and a person came up with a big hunting knife and was walking up behind him and i saw it and his friedns saw it and didn't do anything but smile about it and i yelled for him to turn around and then i screamed for someone to help him, then the person stabbed him in the back and my friend fell to the ground and noone else even noticed and i was trying to scream and the personw as stabbing him more and i tried to run over and stop him and i couldn't move and the screams made no sound and i couldnt' even look away, i was stuck watching my friend get stabbed and my mom woke me up because i was screaming and kicking in real life...
Thats what having the Flu does to your brain!

no but your dream could mean your failing in something and your gonna keep on falling til you hit rock bottom which could be anytime.
