My advice is to keep the family relationship out of it and address it based purely on your results and your potential. Don't make it more complex than it needs to be and don't give them an out by bringing the relationship into it. It's business, not personal.

Find work elsewhere - boss might up pay to retain you.....& if not - you'll know where you stand.

BTW: what's stopping you from being boss of your own company? If he did it - then you can too....just a thought.
