the reason you should forgive someone is so you don't walk around with anger, hurt, or anything else you might be feeling. Once you TRULY forgive you set yourself free from the pain you feel. Now, if this person is just going to hurt you again, than I would suggest ending the relationship. Don't continue in a relationship that obviously will never change. Move on to someone who appreciates you for who you are.

Forgiving is just to let go of the hurt and resentment.

You can forgive, but still not give someone another chance to hurt you again. That's why I feel people should forgive, but not forget.

Forgiving frees you up in a way, because you are not harboring ill will in your heart. If the person you are forgiving will just hurt you again, maybe it is time to move on and find people who treat you right.

Well forgiving someone is to help you get over the situation and to learn from that. For both of you to learn from that, it sounds like you have been hurt by this person before and you need to reconsider your feelings and your friendship/relationship with this person. If a person is going to keep doing this to you then they do not value you as a person/as a friend! You deserve better!

You forgive and move on, or forgive to set your heart and mind as ease and never forget. But if you put yourself in the same place to be hurt again, then you have not learned. Good Luck,,,

To me forgiving is a way for me to move on. I dont like to hold grudges..now mind you...forgiving does not always mean forgetting.

Also...when you forgive a person it does not always mean that you must keep them in your life.

Blessings

How do you know that they will hurt you again? It's up to you to take that chance. You can go thru life wondering "what if" I had given them another chance. I have a 3 strike rule, hurt me not once but twice, shame on you, hurt me three times, shame on me. Most of the time it's easy to forgive, but you seldom ever forget.

If you forgive them then you can go on. If not you still have that anger built up inside of you. Is it worth it for them to control your feelings? No. You forgive someone for YOU. Not for them. If you choose to stay friends then that takes a little more time.

To remind you that it's not about YOU, and that they're not spending all this time dwelling on how they hurt you, so by forgiving them and letting it go you're freed up.
That, and most times the person who hurt really does NOT see it coming.

I believe that forgiving is a win-win thing. it benefits the other person because they have one less person they're struggling with, and it benefits you cuz it eases your mind.

When you think about it, forgiving is one of the BEST thigns you can do for yourself.
