It is my understanding that capitalism and freedom is what allowed the USA to accomplish things no other nation has: going to the moon; a space shuttle; inventions of all sorts; etc.
Is this a major issue or should it be? Like other systems it has problems but nothing like communism that inhibits growth and freedom and has the worst human rights violations of any other political/economic system. Socialism is a way or redistributing money, pay for a beauracracy, and enhance opportunities for fraud. To be honest, I don't understand why liberals embrass other forms of economic policy and trash capitalism which has done this country a lot of good.
PROVIDE REASONABLE EXPLAINATIONS.

I have a cousin who is a "die-hard liberal" and the liberals of Hollywood are always snuggling up to Castro and Chavez so, don't tell me liberals don't hate capitalism. There have been professors & teachers recorded bashing capitalism and praising other forms of government especially Europe as a utopia because of their Socialism!

I don't accept your premise. Some liberals despise capitalism, though MOST do not.

you could also argue that slavery was a child of capitalism... there is nothing in the philosophy of capitalism to preclude it. i think capitalism does have many strengths and weaknesses, but there are areas where it fails completely. healthcare for example under a truly capitalistic system would be monstrous. likewise, wages and working hours are not naturally determined by the market with much fairness or humanity.
it is not that liberals despise capitalism; i personally believe it should be a hybrid system that is capitalistic in some realms and probably some flavor of socialist in others. while socialism is not great for market or national competitiveness, it is better for education and healthcare.
please don't forget, "the hollywood liberals" are also movie stars. their views should probably be taken with a grain of salt...
look, i hear a lot of "socialized health care sucks..." but no one ever says why. what is it your girlfriend complains about? maybe we'd do it better, but right now we're behind most other western nations when it comes down to dollars spent. why do you say our system is better?

socialist liberals make up a fraction on the political world. Most Democrats and modern liberals are center-left like Bill Clinton. You're referring to Ralph Nader and Kucinich. Very rare. Do some research about the Democratic Leadership Council. Here's the link to prove that many Dems are for capitalism.

Extreme liberalism leads to socialism. Extreme conservatism leads to feudalism and fascism. I'd take socialism over fascism any day.
Also, I know plenty Canadians who like their healthcare system. Some like it, some don't.

Freedom which allows an individual to conquer other members of society and use them to build wealth is not a positive thing for society no matter how you slice it, ...You invest in a business and gain off the fruits of other people's labor. That kind of freedom did not have anything to do with us going to the moon or making inventions (I don't know why capitalists seem to think they are the only ones who make "inventions") it was school and EDUCATION which led to those technological advances, not competition. Competition leads to advances in toothpaste flavor (probably using something cancerous...but who cares we also own stock in a company that promises to cure cancer, side effects include brain hemorrhage...if you have the health insurance to pay for it that is)

Unrestrained capitalism is evil. UNRESTRAINED.
Just as private citizens need laws so that the criminal types are not able to raise themselves up by preying on the rest of us,
the markets and participants need regulation and oversight to stay in working order and mutual benefit.
Monopoly signifies failure of capitalism.
Why do you insist on misrepresenting this? Liberals are not communists nor socialists. Just law abiding with an expectation of rule of law.

You know what I find really funny? Most libs I know tend to buy Lotto tickets especially when the prize is really big. If they think that the rich are so evil why would they want to become one of them buy trying to win a lot of money. At least most of the well-off people I know got that way by working hard and smart.

I haven't noticed any liberals trashing capitalism so I really don't know what you are talking about. It's not a major issue, it's a false premise on your part.

The rich Dems try to act like they don't have money, like the poor Dems whose votes they need to get their own Dem. candidate elected. The most two faced democrats on the planet are the rich lawyers. Their motives lie hand in hand with the devil. To them, money even comes before their own religion. Many lawyers have sold their souls to the devil, just for their love of money.

I think your confusing anti corporate welfare with anti-capitalism.
The Republicans are for giving welfare to corporations that don't need it to get campaign donations. This hallucination your having of people that don't like Capitalism is a weird fantasy of yours. You just do not want to accept the failures of your party.
It is the Republicans that spy on people not to mention kidnap, torture and killing people.
