The best example is the first posting [Joseph C] who, instead of giving words of his own copy/pasted lies and half truths from a website that states that it "is committed to defend the perennial Magisterium of Holy Mother Church and Catholic traditions."
This shows that those who dislike homosexuals do so for their own agenda without any regards to actual facts.
The so-called 'homosexual community' is comprised of different people with different political beliefs and different religious beliefs. The one thing that brings us together are these facts:
Gay couples cannot file joint tax returns, and usually pay higher taxes than they would if they were able to marry.
If a gay couple is fortunate enough to have an employer to offer health benefits to a partner, the partners benefits are taxed since the partner is not a family member.
If two gay people are in a committed relationship and one becomes ill, the other partner can be denied hospital visitation since they are not related.
If a gay partner dies, the surviving partner can inherit their estate but are taxed at the highest rate since they are not a spouse (and oftentimes lose their home due to the tax burden).
If a gay partner dies the surviving partner cannot receive pension or social security benefits, and if the surviving partner inherits a retirement plan it is also taxed because the surviving partner is not related.

I'd take much of Joseph's list with a BIG grain of salt, as it comes verbatim from Catholic Apologetics International, which bills itself as a "body of like-minded Christian men and women who aspire to the highest standards of theological investigation and moral behavior." As a professional data analyst, I can tell you that many if not most of the statistics presented here simply don't even pass the "smell test," as we call it. "30,000 sexually abused children in Los Angeles were victims of homosexuals?" "50% of the women on death row are lesbians?" "28% had sex with 1000 or more partners in a lifetime" (and consider that the alleged average lifetime is 42, that must mean about 42 different partners per year since the age of 18, or almost one a week, not counting holidays). And they must all have great jobs, to have that much stamina and free time and still pull down $55,000/year (well, since half of all homosexuals supposedly hold professional/managerial positions, I supposed they can make their own schedules).
You might want to take a look at some of the sources linked from this site as possible alternatives to to the CAI claims: http://www.skepticwiki.org/wiki/index.php/Homosexuality And take a look at the comments posted to the blog concerning the CAI claims: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1502263/posts

As long as there are people like Joseph C in the world, the religious and political boundaries will continue to exist.
You want our "side" - get into a group of gay friends and TALK to them. Ask them about their coming out stories. Ask them if they've been "gay-bashed". Ask them how many friends they lost. Ask them about the process they went through to eventually accept themselves.
