I had a very sharp pain in my lower stomach. I was preg at the time and it was my first cyst. Other than that time I've never been back to the doctor. A lot of times I feel the pain in my sides right above my hips, but if I push on my ovaries and feel pain there I know the pain is from another cyst.

Well I know a few people that are irregular in their periods, meaning they have very few if any periods a year, and I researched online, and a lot of medical websites said that menstrual problems are a symptom of having a cyst in the ovaries. There are different symptoms but one of the important ones are irregular menstrual cycle.

I had sharp pains on my lower stomach... I honestly didn't know what it was. I told my doctor and she suggested right away that it was a cyst. Mine was a complex cyst and since I put off seeing the doctor, I put myself in a lot of pain (had to have a shot of morphene!)
So my advice is to see your doctor just in case :)

I have had many. You can get pain during intercourse, or at anytime. I had ultrasound testing done to confirm them. Most cysts are not harmful, but some can actually contain teeth! I think they are called dermoid cysts. You should go to the doc if you think you have them. Good luck.

I have PCOS, which means you have many many cysts in your ovaries. Sometimes I had pain and didn't have a period for two years, so I got an ultrsound from my gyno. Birth control pills seem to help regulate the condition.

actually lots of woman get cysts on their ovaries espically during their periods its just that most go away unnoticed but the ones that do stay are extreamly painful (had a few) sometimes they need to be removed and other times they burst.
