A company can only cater to a given group so much. Simple economics dictates that you sell what will sell in quantity. A limited group of Hispanics frequent Walmart (depending on which store you re talking about.) Therefor why should they take up floor space stock funds, and logistics for articles that are less likely to sell than articles/items they know will sell? Being wise with their marketing strategy is not even remotely racism. Racism is thrown about too easily these days when anyone takes a stance contrary to another persons.

I'm going to answer that question with some more questions?

Is it racist if walmart doesn't carry Afghani cd's?

Is it racist if walmart doesn't carry Korean cd's?

Is it racist if walmart doesn't carry Iraqi cd's?

In case you haven't figured out the answer already.... no its not racist. They don't carry mexican cd's prolly cuz they don't think that they'll sell that well in the stores. If they did think that mexican cd's would sell, there would be entire shelves of Mexican cd's out there.

No, since Walmart is a retailer and they make money selling merchandise to people. The only reason they may not sell Mexican CDs is because it may the supply for it may not be enough for them to carry it. It is more profitable if they stock something that is more popular so they can sell more copies.

It depends. Do you think they are refusing to carry the cd's based on the ethnicity/nationality of the musicians and expected clientele? If yes, then their refusal is racist and probably xenophobic. If they don't carry the cd's because they don't think they will sell enough to justify the shelf space, then it's a business decision. Of course, even sound business decisions might be influenced by prejudice!

No. It could just be that no one has asked for it. They aren't going to spend money on stock that is going to sit around and not move. Talk to the manager, and ask if they can order some for you. And if that doesn't work, curse them out in Spanish and walk away. HAHAHA

no they carry what they can buy and sell in large volumes, Racist would be if they didn't employ or sell to Mexicans.

No. It means that the Wal-mart in your area doesn't have the demand (or in the case of older wal-marts...space) to stock these cd's. It's simple economics.
