I was on Deerfoot Tr, and a deer ran out infront of a Semi on my right, it hit it and threw it across my lane into the semi on my left and then it settled in my lane, I swurved as much as I could but i felt my car run over its feet. That was the "biggest" animal I have hit, and I get to say, I ran over a Deer's Feet on DeerFoot.

A Great Dane.
I was OK; sadly, the dog died outright, about $1000 in damage to my car (this was in the early 90s to an 80s vehicle).
I worry about deer as well, living in a mostly rural area, and having almost hit a few in the past few years. Just be sure to drive slower when it's dark (or dusk/dawn), use your high-beams when you're able to, and scan the sides of the road for any deer getting ready to run across. And remember that if you see one deer, there is a high probability that another one is near.

A deer or a dog, we werent sure which it was. I was driving along and I was like OMG what is all this blood and all a sudden wham, there was this huge thing in the middle of the road and first reaction I swerved and hit it head on instead of staying straight and letting it go under the car. I was so sick the rest of the night from hearing the crunching. Thankfully nothing on the car popped or broke off and thank god the thing was already hit by someone else otherwise I would have felt really bad if I killed it.

The largest thing i ever hit was a bird. It bent the grille on my pickup, and made a small cloud of feathers. I doubt it felt much.
The worst result of an animal/vehicle collision I have seen was between Flagstaff and Pine in Arizona. There was a mid 60s pickup smashed all the way up to the firewall. You know those old trucks were built to take a lot of stuff, since back then they were still made to last. It had hit a full-grown adult bull Elk. Those things weigh like 1500 pounds. A bit like hitting a tall skinny cow. OUCH!

I hit a full-grown doe in my little '91' Toyota Tercel once. I was doing about 60 mph, but I managed to slow down to about 45 before the impact. My hood was crumpled, my radiator was shot, and my car's frame was bent, among other, little things. It killed the deer, I'm afraid, but it did die instantly. The deer actually flew up and over the right side of the car. Talk about frightening! Probably took two or three years from my life....

A 900 pound elk near Gaylord, Michigan years ago. The Olds Ceirra that I was driving wasn't able to be driven away. It was a rental, so I'm not sure if it was totaled. I almost hit a bear in the U.P.(the upper peninsula of Michigan). I thought to myself that if I were to hit a bear I would have to reverse the car and run over it again, then drive forward over it. I thought it would be a good idea to do this a few times just to make sure the bear was dead and not just pi$$ed off.(the DNR officer would destroy it anyway)

I've come awfully close to hitting a couple of deer at various times (in fact, I saw one last night!), but thankfully the biggest animal I ever actually hit was an armadillo (aka "Texas Speed Bump"). No damage to the car or injury to myself; unfortunately, the armadillo wasn't so lucky.

A big 12 point buck. I was not hurt. My car had $2,500 damage. The deer had to be killed by the state trooper because it was badly injured but not dead. I was very disturbed by it. It is not fun to hit animals, I was sad about the deer and my car.

An elephant, he came out of nowhere. I think he was alright in the long run though.
