It is a fact that the S&T education in India is far from satisfactory. They have not been instilling a sense of enquiry and research in our minds. The students are not encouraged to question and seek after truth. India has a tradition of learning. Science and mathematics flourish in this country in the past. The long foreign domination has blunted our scientific spirit and obscratism has replaced our traditional enquiring spirit. We need to take a fresh look at the way our educational instititutions are imparting eduction and do urgent remedial steps.

This might sound racist and I don't mean it to be, however...
They seem to not be having any trouble in that arena. A lot of jobs in the science and technological fields have been outsourced to India. I also notice in my Preferred Provider directory, there seems to be a predominant amount of Indian, Pakistani, Iraqi, Iranian, Turkish, etc. type surnames.
Again, I don't have a problem with this (My doctor's name is Gupta), it is just something that I noticed and I assumed that this was an area that India excelled in.

Comic books. I learned more science from comic books than i ever did from public schools. Of course, comics these days might be a bit questionable, seems like whenever I look at one, one of the old heroes from the 70's has become dead or gay.
