The question makes no sense: if you were GIVEN the opportunity, there is nothing to pursue or go about. You will do what the director tells you to do.

One of the best ways to enter the film industry as an actor is to work with an agency that represents people who act as extras in movie scenes--non-speaking parts, mostly, in the background of the action, crowd scenes, etc. The pay is small, but you may appear briefly in a movie---The more work you do, the more likely that you may appear in a film with a famous actor or actress, but you should know that your chances of talking with them on the set or meeting them are still very, very slight.
It takes, time, talent, skill, hard work and luck to become a good and well-known film actor.
If you really want to pursue your opportunity. you need to learn the craft of acting, or of making movies, or being a part of a creative team that works in or on the production of a move. Pursue those goals first, and doors may open to the goals you're hoping to achieve.

I've been a extra in several films. Teachers(1984), Jesse Owens Story, Air Borne, League of Their Own.

No speaking lines at all....just someone in the background/crowd.
