Save yourself the time and worry and just get distilled water from the store. The nursery water is fine, it just costs more.

Stainless steel or glass is best. I would go with glass but that is just me. Don't use the aluminum or teflon.

As far as the water to go in the bottles, I always bought the gallon size water in the store. It is much easier and safer. You don't have to boil it.

I would recommend a stain less steel Pot, like a soup pot or a glass pot, dont use Teflon, it will chip and it has been heard that Teflon causes health problems. Or just go to walmart and buy the cheap baby brand would be your safe bet.

I would go and purchase bottled water just for the baby. You and your family probably should be consuming bottled water anyway and leave the tap water for washing dishes, doing laundry, taking baths. You may want to consider a water softener, we put one in our house and it made the water taste better, was much easier on the plumbing and didn't leave stains on my sinks, toilets, etc.

try installing a good under the counter inline water filter, once the water's filtered then you can boil it to get rid of whatever sneaks by the filter. dirty water is just nasty boiled or not.

AND DON'T USE ALUMINUM POTS!!!

Stainless steel, or better yet, get a glass/pyrex/corelle one. The mineral deposits can easily be scrubbed off with warmed white vinegar.

try looking into getting a small see through glass one. Most of them don't cost that much.
