I tried to do this poll before but it didn't work out cause no one gave me there info. I want to find out if sexuality or gender has an affect on our fear of spiders as in your english household kinda big looking spider, in phil jupitos terms a catagory 2 spider. so please say on a scale of 0-10 your fear, gender and sexuality, bisexual is not a possible catagory as Dr Hamer could not justify it in his research for the anotomy of desire so I won't either. You may email me the the graph or await its publication in the new york times science monthly addition. Thankyou very much!!

On a scale of 1-10 I am off your scale when it comes to my irrational fear of spiders. (No pansy English house spiders - I'm talking business-minded Australian spiders)

Straight, female

I can't even watch insects on tv. I get creepy crawlies and start to twitch feeling them on my arms and legs.

Small spiders, 1/2 the size of my pinky nail make me jump out of the seat and yell "DADDY!" (

Once a preying mantis landed on me while I was in the garden and I flat out fainted in the front lawn.

I am a 32 year old female, married, and IMO, anything with more than 4 legs isn't natural. I'm good with mice, snakes, lizards, and the like..even live lobsters creep me out. I'm feeling a little creeped out now. Thank you. I hope I've helped you.

wow.. that's quite a feat for you..

anyways, i dont think gender has anything to do with arachnophobia.. im not afraid of spiders but i know 3 male friends who are afraid of them.. there's something in the way that spiders look that they do not like.. they cant even take a bath if there's a spider in the bathroom.. and i know lots of women who are likewise afraid.. it doesnt matter how big or small as long as its a spider..

fear is something that comes from the mind.. it depends on our perception of things..

I'd say I'm around a 2. I was very afraid of spiders as a kid, but as an adult I've come to understand them better and have lost most of the fear.

Female, straight

I hate spiders. I would say my fear level is probably 7 or 8, if it is a spider bigger than a quarter, let's say. I am a hetero male.

0-10, I'm a 9.5 We have brown recluces, black widows and wolf spiders. I'll spay them with something, then I run away, but I can never kill them because I am too scared. They give me panic/anxiety attacks.

straight, female.

I'm probably about 6-7, say 6.5, although my sister is responsible for this, she taught me as a child to fear all insects and arachnids no matter what they are and I still can't get over it. (Even moths subconsiously freak me out) I'm Male and hetero
