ok, my JV high school basketball team is 1-8 this season so far and i am doing every thing i can for the team i mean i cant win the game for the team and im doing everything but. So what can I do to make the team better?

Play hard, do what your coach says, and be a great encourager. If the team attitude starts to get sour, you need to be a positive light.
Show everyone that you will practice harder and smarter. Work on your shot. Bad teams usually have lots of bad shooters.

I have been on teams that have done very well and teams that have not. Being on the losing side of things isn't any fun, and the team can get more and more down with every loss. You start to lose confidence in your team's ability to succeed, lose confidence in your teammates, and more importantly in yourself although it is easier to blame others when times get tough. In order to do better, you should definitely practice, practice, practice!! You all may be practicing, but maybe not practicing and emphasizing the right things. You need to have someone video tape some games and watch the video so where the team can go through and come up with ideas or areas that need improvement. This is not a criticize everybody when they mess up chance. Maybe you just need to realize the weaknesses and strengths and build up your weaknesses and use your strengths to your advantage. This helped our team tremendously.
Also, eventhough you are losing a lot of games, just remember that this is a team effort. It is just JV so this is a learning experience for everyone (some players may be playing for their first time outside of street ball or playing for the first time ever) and a time for players to get adjusted to highschool level ball. Go over fundamentals, make sure everyone is being a team player, and especially remember to go out on the court putting 110% into the game and HAVE FUN!! You all will get better with time, practice, and hard work! If you ask me, defense is key to winning any and all games... a solid defense is best and your offense will follow.
