I find using hair spray the BEST way to get ink out.

Put a cloth underneath the stain and spray. Keep blotting until the stain is out. Don't rub it! Just blot at it with another cloth and keep moving the cloth underneath so there is a fresh area when you spray. Then soak it with laundry soap and wash in cold water. Works every time!!

It depends on the colour of the clothing Once I removed ink stains from my wifes white uniform using a mold remover spray which has bleach in it it worked very well but only on white I would try on other colours metho or white spirits.

For regular blue/black ball point pen ink, the easy and inexpensive way using an item most people already have in the home is milk. You need to put milk in a bowl or glass, submerse the stained area, let it soak over night, then rinse in cold water and wash the item as usual. Sometimes you need to gently rub the stained area while submersed in the milk.
