It's a phenomenal movie and it is not meant for males only.

If we're stereotyping here, then a "girl's movie" is all about romance and shopping, and a "guy's movie" is all about blowing things up and looking at breasts.
"Dead Poet's Society" isn't either. It's an interesting, intelligent film, and I don't see any reason why someone wouldn't enjoy at least something about it. It's worth seeing to at least be able to discuss it with another person.
I recommend just watching movies for the heck of it, regardless of whether or not you think you fit into the category of someone who would like it. If you can't stand it, turn it off. If you at least don't hate it, you may learn something or have a light topic of conversation that doesn't involve the weather...

Dead Poet's Society is one of my all-time favorite movies. I was a teenager when the movie came out, though. I'd be curious to see what teens now think of it.

Frankly, it's WAAAAAYY more of a girl flick than a guy movie. C'mon--I mean you've got a young Ethan Hawke and Josh Charles (granted, both pale and scrawny) but...what's not to like??!! It's bloody brilliant!
(Plus it inspires you to sit down, get all intellectual and read some Whitman, Poe or Shakespeare.)

It's not really a "guys' movie"...Actually, it could be considered more of a chick flick in that it deals with heavy, emotional stuff. Great movie-you should definitely watch it.

I love that movie it is a great movie and one of my favorites. So I don't think it is just for guys. Besides I don't know many guys that do love this movie. Robin Williams is also one of my favorite actors.

Fantastic movie always makes me tear up. If anything I would say this is a chick movie since it deals with cute boys and their feelings.

I'm a girl, and I simply adore this movie. Honestly, I can't really see it being a straight-cut 'guy movie'. I think you'll love it- it's a classic.

i love the movie and also love Good Will Hunting. why they seem connected i dont know just me i guess. I luv the story in DPS it is such a good movie, remember it is what you like not anybody else!!! Watch and enjoy! Life is yours to live!!! make yourself happy!!!! Cross roads with karate kid is one i luv too.
