Take it from a girl who tried drugs before, it seems like it is taking the pain away but its just adding pain. As long as they can have that drug and feel safe doing it they will. Parents can be their childs drug dealer (I got drugs that were precribed for me but was using them way too much). After they realize they are hurting them self they will stop.

I think youths that use drugs feel misunderstood, confused, stressed they don't know how to deal with issues they have. Drugs are a way for them to leave this world.

The fear tactics don't work. The facts don't persuade. What can gov't do? Tons of money and advertising campaigns seem to go down the toilet. So what's the answer(s)? Besides harsher penalties on the makes and sellers; help for those caught up in it who want assistance. ATOD programs can work. More community wide partnerships are needed. But mainly, realize that people do drugs for one major reason: inner pain. Government programs and stuff like that won't take care of the pain. I found my pain relief in Christ.

The group of people that do drugs will accept anyone into their group as long as they do drugs. It is a way for a teen to find easy acceptance and escape the stresses of becoming an adult.

the teenage years are the years that we have enough freedom to try new things with the comfort of parents that love you and a warm bed to sleep in. its the best time to experiment because it is a safer time in your life
