I'd say an average of 2 to 3 hours a day would be a nice normal amount of time to spend playing a game. I play about that much; some days I don't play at all and some days I may spend a little longer in a game, but that's my average. I work full time, take college classes, and still have time to spend with my boyfriend. My gaming doesn't interfere with my real world obligations in the slightest.

Moderation is key when it comes to anything that some may find "addictive."

I've never left anyone because of a gaming addiction, nor has anyone left me for that reason. But if your significant other plays more than just a few hours here and there, and they're not spending any time with you, you need to have a serious talk with them. If they're neglecting you, they're likely neglecting a lot of other things in their life.

On a typical day, I usually play video games on my Gamecube for 1-2 hours. If I am really addicted to the game then I will be playing it for 2-4 hours. My most favorite game to play occasionally is Super Smash Bros. Melee on the Gamecube. I can't wait until Super Smash Bros. Brawl is released in the spring. As for online games I usally play on Pogo.com for 1-2 hours if I have enough time to kill. I have not left a relationship with my girlfriend because of my gaming habits. There is another reason for that.

now i only play a few hours a week on my ps2. but when i first got into gaming on my ps1 it was almost 24/7 sometimes!

the game i was most addicted to was resident evil 2, which to me is the greatest and scariest game ever. that game will never be topped for sheer addictive quality. I couldn't put it down, and is one of the few games i've ever actually completed. the only other two i've fully completed being metal gear solid, and driver 2 on the ps1. came close to finishing FF7 as well, but in the end gave up trying to defeat Sephiroth - man, that dude was just too tough!

I try to fit in 25 hours a day (this usually involves playing twice as fast as normal for one of the 24) and, boy ,do my fingers and thumbs get sore! And of course it means never having any sleep - and relationships? -forget'em...unless you want to play a 2-player game!

Depends On what kinda time you have to spend on such things. But I would say a "healthy" amount would be one or two hours every other day. That's what I do and it keeps me and my girl happy.
