Serious question about The State of The Union Address?

What parts did you find most appealing? What parts did you disagree with? Is there an issue you felt was skipped or poorly explained?

Not Explained - Will the balanced budget include war costs?
Agree with fixing earmarks. Fixing social security sounds good but will instantly run into trouble about how. Will he be open to ideas that don't include privatizing it?

The tax break for health care was the low point of the speech. Too many numbers tossed around, it was as boring as a math lecture. And not clear if everyone would get the same break - cancelling other tax deductions for health care, and if it is a free break for people who have employer-paid insurance.

The energy plan was good. Not a lot on global warming, but it left out drilling in ANWAR (which kept getting put up and voted down)

The rest was about Iraq, the war on terror, and some invited people. Which was ok, but did not make me into a supporter of the war. I do think he has 2 more years to try things.

the most appealing thing about the speach is that we know gw has been reading those words for the last few days and he might now want to know what they can do
if he gets the laws to do it across his desk
we might see they sank in.

that being said the applause sounded pre recorded
it was like a foot ball match or perhaps like one of the good ole boy rouse em and win it for the gipper
so full an applause ,every paragraph common it wernt the laws he was presenting but nearly his l;ast shot at stating ideals to the union
its in the histry ,that the applause is earned
look at what words mean in real life not in the house of applause.

Do any of you're making any statements now no longer based upon some man made label? i'm a Democrat & have been for over 30 years longer than a number of you have been whining. i think of the presentation grew to grow to be very sturdy.yet that's now no longer obtainable , i'm a Dem. I additionally thought the Dem reaction grew to grow to be acceptable provided. Wow is that allowed? am i able to surely have helpful impressions of the two? how can you choose for effectiveness in an hour? Effectiveness on making people who hate & disrespect him because of the fact he for my section planned the 9/eleven attack? in all probability minimum

I resent the lack of address to the Anchor baby issue. From what I gathered, President Bush just does not understand at all how much all of the invaders kids, are destroying our ability to properly educate our own!
Instead, he wants to make sure we hamstring our efforts and our medical facilities to take care of the Millions of kids that MEXICO should be spending their damn money doing!

No. just a great speech. Gee, he wasn't even
boo'd by the Democrats. How could they disagree
with what he said? This government needs bi-
partisan support and unity. We're in the war and
now we simply cannot retreat and leave the enemy
to move in and take over all that we've accomplished

the only thing that wasn't good was the rebuttal by the democrat after Bush's speech. Bush did a splendid job tonight.
